Atkins Management Consultants co-sponsored the summer cocktail party of the influential Government Group of Intellect (the trade association of the Computing and Hitec industries) on July 13 in the magnificent surroundings of the Institute of Actuaries in Staple Inn Hall, High Holborn.
We were privileged to receive Sir Peter Gershon as guest of honour for the evening and the July weather was more than kind enough for us to enjoy drinks in the courtyard. Tom Abram of Atkins Management Consultants, Chairman of the Intellect Government Group, introduced the speakers and Sir Peter offered his views on the role and future of ICT as the enabler of Transformational Government. Sir Peter was of course, in his time as Chief Executive of the Office of Government Commerce noted for his introduction of the Gateway process, the creation of the Efficiency Agenda and his robust views on the role and performance of the Industry in supplying to Government. His views were once again incisive and thought provoking but Chatham House Rules must confine the detail to those who came for the cocktails! Matthew Elson, MD of Atkins Management Consultants closed the speeches with his own views on the importance of ICT in Government, the challenge of major change and the important role that Atkins plays in major transformation programmes, in Government and across a wide range of industries.
